Fequently Asked Questions
Q1. Are the awnings suitable for shading windows?
Yes, as a rule you need about 45% of the height of a window in projection for the awning. For example a window 1200mm high needs an awning with a minimum projection of 540mm. Boss Awnings are suitable for window heights of 2200mm
Q2. Will the Boss Awning provide enough shelter for a front door?
Yes most definately. You can just keep adding panels to cove as much areas as you like. Remember though that the maximum projection from your wall is 1000mm
Q3. I have an area 6m long and I would like to place your 1m deep awnings over it. How many kits would I need?
For every installation you need at least one Base Kit. You then add on as many Extension Kits you need to make up the total length required.
If you are using our 1m deep awning you have the choice of using 1m long or 1.5m long kits. So if you wanted the cheapest option you would need:
- A single 1m x 1.5m Base Kit; and
- Three 1m x 1.5m Extension Kits
If you preferred the look of narrower panels, but a slightly more expensive option, you would need:
- A single 1m x 1m Base Kit; and
- Five 1m x 1m Extension Kits
Q4. Can I cut down my awning to make it shorter?
Yes. The acrylic panels can be cut easily with a fine blade saw. The cut edge is located inside the groove on the side of the awning bracket so you won't see any raw edge.
